Transformations is something I have worked at over the years to have a solid series of activities and notes to help students comprehend how they work. (Side note, maybe I ought to look back at my blog more often. I had forgotten I had put together a couple of these things.) We are in round 1 of transformations. I am working with F.BF.3, which reads Identify the effect on the graph of replacing f(x) by f(x) + k, k f(x), f(kx), and f(x + k) for specific values of k (both positive and negative); find the value of k given the graphs. Experiment with cases and illustrate an explanation of the effects on the graph using technology. Include recognizing even and odd functions from their graphs and algebraic expressions for them.
